Olmert-Abbas summit in Jericho
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Central Committee said Monday that it expects a Olmert-Abbas summit in Jericho later this week to bring about new confidence-building measures between Israel and the Palestinians. A member of the central committee, Yasser Abed Rabbo, said after its meeting in Ramallah, that the Palestinians are also asking Israel to release prisoners in exchange for captured soldier Gilad Shalit without setting prior conditions.(11,38)

Une bombe a explosé près d'un autobus vide dans un quartier chrétien de la banlieue Est de Beyrouth, faisant sept blessés légers, selon des sources sécuritaires. Il s'agit du quatrième attentat à la bombe commis en mois d'un mois dans la capitale libanaise et ses alentours. Les trois précédents ont fait un mort et plusieurs dizaines de blessés. (21,28)

Une roquette Qassam s'est abattue sur des serres du moshav Netiv Haassara, au sud d'Ashkelon. Par ailleurs, les Palestiniens ont tiré également 6 obus de mortiers en direction du Néguev occidental. Ain El-Hilweh
Deux militaires libanais ont été tués, ainsi que deux militants du groupuscule islamiste Jound al-Cham dans les accrochages qui ont éclaté hier à l'entrée du camp de réfugiés d'Ain El-Hilweh près de Sidon, dans le sud du pays selon une source palestinienne dans le camp.
