Prime Minister calls Abbas's speech on Jerusalem "irresponsible incitement"

The Prime Minister's Bureau has issued a statement in reaction to a speech given today by Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas in Qatar, calling it "irresponsible incitement". Abbas had earlier told the International Conference for the Defence of Jerusalem " that arabs and muslims must be encouraged to visit Jerusalem in order to strenghten our hold on the city." Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is raising doubts over whether there are in fact remnants of the ancient Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. According to the Palestinian Authority leader, Israel is in a race against time to imbue Jerusalem with a Jewish character. Abbas maintains that Israel is preparing models of what it calls the Temple, in order to build it on ruins of the Al-Aksa Mosque. The Palestinian Authority president has made the accusations at the International Conference for the Defense of Jerusalem, taking place in Doha.
