Netanyahu: Israel not obliged by international agreement with Iran

The United States has said that world powers would consider relaxing some economic sanctions against Iran if Tehran takes verifiable steps to limit its nuclear program. But if the byword of the international community is "verifiable," for Israel, the key word is "capability," to rid Iran of already attained capability. Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the deal buries "the possibility of having a peaceful resolution" to the nuclear dispute. Speaking to reporters, Netanyahu said: "I understand the Iranians are walking around very satisfied in Geneva, as well they should because they got everything and paid nothing. They wanted relief of sanctions after years of grueling sanctions, they got that. They paid nothing because they are not reducing their nuclear enrichment capability." The Israeli prime minister, apparently referring to countries such as Saudi Arabia, said: "What I am saying is shared by many in the region, whether or not they express that publicly. Israel," said the prime minister, "is not obliged by this agreement, and Israel will do everything it needs to do to defend itself and the security of its people."
