Netanyahu in Davos: Palestinian intentions in talks will become clear soon

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says it will become clear in coming days or weeks whether the Palestinians will join as partners in the peace process. Netanyahu held talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday morning along the sidelines of the Davos Economic Forum. Netanyahu described the meeting as good. He stressed that he does not intend to evacuate a single Jewish community in the Jordan Valley and not to uproot any Israeli from there. Netanyahu added that he is not ignoring the issue of an economic boycott of Israel, but stresed that economic pressure does not advance the peace process, but rather, hurts it because it hardens the stance of the Palestinians. A Kol Yisrael reporter says Kerry and Netanyahu also discussed the Iranian issue. Netanyahu said that Iran's promises cannot be trusted. In response to the Israeli leader's assertion, Iran's foreign minister, Mohammed Zarif, said everyone must believe in Iran's honesty regarding the nuclear issue. In other comments, Jordan's foreign minister Nasser Judeh told Kol Yisrael's correspondent in Davos that there has been progress in contacts between Israel and the Palestinians. Judeh said that US Secretary Kerry is doing a good job, and there is room for optimism. The Turkish foreign minister, Ahmed Davutoglu, said there has been positive movement in the reconciliation talks between Israel and Turkey over the Mavi Marmara incident, and he expressed hope they will be resolved soon
