A Shabaq report finds terror attacks doubled in 2013

A report from the General Security Service, the Shabaq, has found that the number of terror incidents more than doubled last year particularly in Judea and Samaria. The report details some 1,271 attacks last year compared to fewer than 600 in 2012. There were 55 attacks that originated in Gaza which is a drop of 95 percent. This is attributed to the understandings reached in the wake of the pillar of defense operation. More than 70 rockets and mortars were fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip. The report also found that half of the terrorists who were released in exchange for Gilad Shalit deported to Gaza and tabroad have returned to terror activities. Israeli Arab involvement in terror remains low but there are many Israeli Arabs who have gone to Syria to fight with the opposition forces.
