    Fuad Siniora accused the opposition of attempting a coup by street action and threw a tight security cordon rings government buildings. The pro-Syrian Shiite and Christians factions seek to derail an international tribunal to try suspects including Syrian officials in the assassination of Rafiq Hariri. Six opposition ministers quit the Siniora government in protest against its approval of the tribunal. One its supporters, industry minister Pierre Gemayel, was murdered on Nov. 21. Majority leader Saad Hariri accused Damascus of engineering that killing too.(06,46)
