Egypt's foreign minister said Saturday his country opposed any attempt by the militant Hamas group to set up a separate government in the Gaza strip after its military takeover of the territory. Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit's comments came a day after the 22-member Arab League also threw its support behind the leadership of moderate Fatah leader and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. "From the Egyptian point of view, there is only one Palestinian government and this is the one formed by President Abu Mazen," Aboul Gheit told reporters.(18,01)
