Fatah prisoner release list completed

      An interministerial committee has completed a list of 250 Palestinian prisoners to be released by Israel as a goodwill gesture to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The director-general of the Justice Ministry is due to hold a final discussion on the matter Wednesday, before Prime Minister Ehud Olmert presents the list to the cabinet on Sunday. A Kol Yisrael reporter says all those on the list are Fatah members, do not have blood on their hands, and are close to finishing their jail sentences. Fatah criticized the criteria used to determine the list sayng it was not even consulted on the matter. A senior Palestinian source close to President Abbas said that as things stand, the release of the prisoners is no goodwill gesture because in a few months they they would have been freed anyway.(14,38)
