Kassams hit Sderot

     Four people were wounded, two moderately and two lightly, as a pair of Kassam rockets scored direct hits on houses in Sderot on Tuesday evening. The rockets were part of a volley of seven rockets. Approximately an hour later, another rocket landed in the town's center causing no casualties. Magen David Adom has raised its level of alert in southern Israel following the barrage. Amongst the wounded was a seven-year old girl, and a woman who was hurt by shrapnel from a different rocket in a nearby house. A spokesperson from the Sderot Media Center told The Jerusalem Post that two of the casualties were driven to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon by ambulance. Overall, 26 rockets and mortar shells were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, a foreign volunteer in a western Negev kibbutz was killed when he was shot by a Palestinian sniper.(21,09)
