PM Netanyahu reportedly tells Mubarak talks with Palestinians seem imminent
PM Binyamin Netanyahu reportedly told Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak in a phone conversation that he expects negotiations with the Palestinians to renew without delay. Egyptian television reports that Netanyahu expressed hope that Cairo will continue to support peace efforts. According to the report, Mubarak told Netanyahu that an atmosphere conducive for negotiations must be created and Israel must stop its activities in the West Bank and lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip. Mubarak warned of what he called grave consequences from Israel's inclusion of West Bank shrines in the national heritage list. He said they are torpedoeing peace efforts and provoking Arabs and Moslems. (14,37)
