In Iran, 2 Red Crescent aid ships await green light for Gaza

         Iran's Red Crescent emergency service says that two aid ships organized by the humanitarian group are ready and awaiting Foreign Ministry approval to leave for Gaza. The organization said that one of the ships, carrying food and medicine, is expected to leave this week. A Red Crescent official said more than 100,000 Iranians registered to go to Gaza as volunteers on the second ship, but only those who have, "some expertise" would be sent. The Iranian organization has said it will send a total of three aid ships to Gaza. It said it will also send a plane carrying 30 tons of medical equipment to Egypt for onward delivery to Gaza. (13,53)
