Report: Israeli delegation in Egypt for security talks

           A delegation of four Israeli security officials arrived in Cairo by private jet for talks with local officials, Egyptian newspaper al-Ahram reported on Sunday. The meeting comes on the heels of last month's mob attack on Israel's Embassy in Cairo, during which hundreds stormed the building housing the embassy, tore down the Israeli flag and tried to break into the offices. Three Egyptians were reportedly killed during the riots. The Embassy staff and their family members were evacuated from Egypt following the attack, but Ambassador Yitzhak Levanon returned to Cairo shortly after the incident. According to the report, the officials will discuss security arrangements along the Israeli-Egyptian border, an area that has seen a growing number of attacks, including repeated attacks on the gas pipe running from Egypt to Israel and Jordan, and the fatal terrorist attack in south Israel in August, which claimed the lives of eight people. The terrorist cell involved in the attack infiltrated Israel through the Sinai Peninsula, which Israeli officials claim has been home to many terrorist cells and Islamic militants since the fall of Hosni Mubarak's regime in February.
