Iran denies report it proposed plan for suspension of uranium enrichment

            Iran has denied that it proposed to eventually suspend its uranium enrichment activity in exchange for the lifting of sanctions imposed on Tehran and resumption of oil sales to Europe. Iranian nuclear negotiator, Said Jalili said such reports in the American media were baseless. The New York Times newspaper had reported that the American administration had rejected a "nine-step plan" proposed by Tehran because it was too complex and included too many concessions on the part of the world powers. The report said that under the proposal, only some uranium enrichment activity would be halted prior to the lifting of the sanctions.
