Jordanian ambassador: Naharayim killer will not be released

Parents of the seven girls who were murdered in 1997 in Naharyim held their own Memorial Day ceremony Sunday, in front of the Jordanian embassy in Ramat Gan. The parents held the ceremony in protest of a petition that called for the release of Ahmad Musa Mustafa Daqamseh, the girls' killer. The petition was signed by over a 100 members of the Jordanian Parliament. At the end of the ceremony, Jordanian Ambassador Walid Khalid Obeidat invited the parents to the embassy. According to the parents, Obeidat stressed that the killer would not be released. Jordan's policy on the issue has not changed since the reign of King Hussein, the ambassador told the bereaved parents, and the killer will serve his life sentence fully. "He let all of us express our pain," Miri Meiri, mother of Ya'ala, told Ynet. "All and all he tried to put our minds at ease." Nurit Fatihi, who lost her daughter Sivan, added "We've had a hard day. All the memories are resurfacing. We continue to live with our pain. The ambassador heard what we had to say. He was kind; he said they were seeking justice and that he will try his best to get our message across."
