Fischer: No quick solutions to the social protests
The Governor of the Bank of Israel, Stanley Fischer, says it's not possible to come up with solutions to the social protests in a day or two, that matters must be examined thoroughly. At a Jerusalem news conference, the governor called for the formation of four teams to discuss the high cost of housing, the high cost of living, taxation and the government's ability to provide services to the public. Fischer said the teams would make proposals and the political echelon would decide how to act. Once various plans are decided upon, he said, they would have to be monitored on a daily basis because plans are not carried out by themselves, as Fischer put it. (13,00)
