Turkey warns Iran not to carry out terror attack on Turkish soil
Turkish newspaper Zaman says Ankara has warned Iran not to engage in acts of terrorism against Israelis or Jewish targets on Turkish territory. The report came a day after Israel's National Security Council's counterterrorism bureau warned that terrorists were planning an attack against "Israeli or Jewish targets in Turkey in the coming days." While the National Security Council did not mention Iran as the likely culprit, a report surfaced last week in Turkish media that the Mosssad had warned Ankara of a plot by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force to attack Israeli targets in Turkey The National Security Council's counter terrorism bureau advised Israelis to avoid traveling to Turkey. The warning also comes as Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan again stepped up his anti Israel rhetoric accusing Israel of commiting genocide against the Palestinians.
