Netanyahu says Iran responsible for terror threat in Gaza
PM Binyamin Netanyahu vowed Wednesday that sooner or later, Israel will "uproot" the Iranian terror base in Gaza. Speaking in the Knesset, Netanyahu stressed that he will not accept that Gaza's missiles, money , terrorist training and terrorist infrastructure come from Iran. He said that Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah in Lebanon all work under Iran's umbrella. He said he is not willing to live with the scenario that the state behind the terrorist organizations is armed with nuclear weapons. Netanyahu stressed that Israel has never left its fate in the hands of others, and Israel will act to defend itself. He was dismissive of the argument that a peace accord with the Palestinians would resovle the Iranian problem. US President Barack Obama says there is still "time and space" for a diplomatic solution on Iran's nuclear program, but the "window" for diplomacy is shrinking. He was speaking at a joint Rose Garden news conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron after the two held talks on Wednesday. On Syria, Obama said the prospect of military intervention in Syria is premature and could lead to civil war. He said he had discussed with British Prime Minister Cameron the "immediate steps" their countries could take in order to make sure that humanitarian aid is being provided to the Syrian people.
